Sample Management
The Sample Management Module represents the main operational component
of the ATLAS VET LIMS integrated information system
that carries out the complete and detailed administration
of laboratory samples and investigation results.

of laboratory samples and investigation results.
FEATURES
- In order to automatize and improve the laboratory and sample collection activities, the work flow in ATLAS VET LIMS system starts “on-site” and is completed by providing a full set of specific data covering all the necessary reports across individual laboratories and at central level;
- It performs the complete and detailed administration of laboratory samples, and also of all analyses and obtained results.
- It allows an easy registering of the animal spreadsheets through the file import.
- The system shall be able to manage animal samples, food products, environment objectives (production facilities, animal shelters, shops, etc.) that can be processed in various laboratory departments (Parasitology, Bacteriology, Molecular Biology, Residue, Food Chemistry, Animal Feed Control, etc.).
- Each sample is monitored after system registration, being traced since the reception, where it is assigned a unique identification code, to the specific laboratory section, and up to the delivery of results and the printing of the TEST REPORT.
- ATLAS VET system also supports an efficient management of all internal or external documents of the institution, optimizing the work processes. The costs of processing the sample and the staff involved in this activity will also be highlighted. Once the test request has been completed, the samples enter the analytical flow, and the test request is already available for the laboratory staff.
- After completing the introduction of the analysis request, the samples enter the analytical flow and the analysis request is available to the laboratory staff.
- The test request registers are customized. Depending on the rights of each person in this laboratory, they will only have access to requests for analysis that contain investigations for the department in which they work.
- Data referring to client/owner are available in the medical test request and can be visualized in all laboratory departments only after completion. In this way the confidentiality of the data in the analytical process is ensured.
- The data collected in the analytical stream are used to automatically generate the medical test reports, and any modification shall be audited by the system.
- Following the tests, the responsible professionals shall draw the final conclusion for each investigation, and the test report shall be automatically generated after the end of the last investigation.
- Once the test report has been printed, its editing is restricted to ensure the consistency of the printed information with the information recorded in the system.

THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF RECORDS ARE MADE AVAILABLE IN ORDER TO CREATE SUCH CONFIGURATIONS:
- Activity profile
- Investigation category
- Investigation type
- Qualitative results
- Method category
- Testing method
- Testing type
- Measurement unit
- Sampling category
- Sampling type
- Definition of investigation category and type
- Disposable and equipment pairing with each testing type
- Association of approved samplings with each investigation type
EACH CLASS CATEGORY CAN ALSO BE DEFINED:
- Definition of disposable categories (materials and reagents); Demand reports and previews for the evaluation of required disposables Definition of equipment categories and types. Equipment evidence and registration in specific departments. This approach allows unitary reporting at national level on laboratory consumption.
- Definition of equipment categories and types. Equipment evidence and registration in specific departments.
- Configuration and management of animal categories, types and species. In the “Animals” section data can be configured on classification by species, breeds and types, Kingdom, Division, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species.
Management System
FEATURES
- Audit: Monitoring test/results and assessing their accordance with its own procedures or with the client’s requests. Recording of actions conducted within the system by the system’s users (who, what, when);
- Help Desk: Module dedicated to the direct registering within the informational system of all occurring problems or modification requirements, with the possibility of tracking the status of all registered solicitations/inquiries.
- Nomenclatures: ATLAS vet Central application ensures the centralized administration of nomenclatures, test types, sample types, standard methods, user profiles, access rights, etc.
- Data stream recording: For each action defined as such in the system one can specify the user profiles that own the right to do that, and also if that certain profile has the editing or visualization right for the current registering status. On a registry level basis there is an option to apply specific actions to every registering type. These actions are configurable and can be dynamically uploaded depending on the current registering status.
- Users and profiles: The authentication system implemented both within the LIMS app and the central application is based upon defining the user profiles that are assigned access rights to all application’s modules and components. Depending on the profile type (testing reception, analyst, Head of laboratory, etc.) all system’s users are granted an account based on an unique name and a related password.
